I'm putting this up for another JWD user. It is a "listing of outstanding word changes in the 1970 Revised Bible" (NWT). I believe this came out of the back of the NWT with the green cover. It is supposedly the only list of changes made in the NWT that has come directly from the Watchtower.

:::UPDATE:::
My web hosting provider has really bad service today. If you can't download the files its not your fault. I'm sure the problem will work itself out in a few hours. Sorry!

Groupthink
by rose petal inhi, i'm studying for my last exam!
i'm majoring in management and studying organisational behaviour this semester and this is what they have to say about groupthink -.
groupthink.

I remember seeing a show a few years back where they analyzed group think in politics. They stuck some people in a room and gave them some hot button political issues to draw a consensus on.
Those of the group who had the most dominant personalities ended up pushing the entire group into their method of belief.
The only exception to this was one lady who would not go along with everybody else in regards to same sex marriage. Her son was gay and she did not feel that it was wrong.
It was a pretty interesting segment. I think it was on ABC news. It would be neat to see it again. -

Disfellowshipped without knowing
by faundy inis this allowed?
i am being ignored by my neighbours and have been gingerly waved to by an elder.
now i haven't heard anything from anyone but is it possible to be disfellowshipped without my knowing?

I know a person who was DF'd while unconscious in the hospital! She received blood and didn't realize it. Once the Elders found out she was DF'd without ever knowing.
Needless to say she was pretty shocked when she gained consciousness. -

child abuse cover up
by looloo ini wonder if anyon on hre can give me some advice , my daughter was abused by an ex jw , it came out in court that he had abused other childrn when he was serving as a ministerial servant years earlier , the elders knw about those victims and never reported him to the police , the judge called it a coverup , there were no press in the room so it never made it in the papers which i was very angry about .
had they reported him years ago he would never have been able to abuse my daughter , and i want an apoligy , i have tried to discuss it with the elders but they all mak out they knew nothing , which makes m wonder who it was that reported the abuse to london hq bethel as that was said in court .
do you think if i wrot to them we would get an apology, his wife who used to be a close friend is supporting him, and his jw family , i feel devastated by this, the cps did not persue the 8 charges for my daughter due to lack of evidence , even though he took my daughter and another victim to the same place, which his wife must just think is a huge coincidence, they critise the catholics for keeping hush hush about abuse but do the same themselves , i wish i could talk to another mum of a child who was abused by a jw , i cant talk to the other mums involved in our case as i think they have been told not to talk to me , i am not a jw but am married to a disfellowshipped man .

First of all looloo, welcome to the forum :)
I'm sorry you have had to go through what you did. As many have said already the Watchtower has no interest in taking care of these sorts of things.
I agree with jgnat that staying here and working out the pain would be great for you. Some members who are on the board get suspicious of new posters, especially ones that have stories like yours (some are afraid to believe something on a message board that is not easily verifiable).
Ask questions, start threads and become part of the community here. There are many people of different backgrounds that can really help you see you are not alone in this. There are a number of posters who have gone through the same things.

Be honest, Do you really Enjoy Christmas?
by BluesBrother indansk's christmas tree thread got me to thinking .. in this house we do not celebrate since my wife is still a die hard dub.
i have no complaints about that, it was our joint choice for decades and i an the one that changed .but as witnesses we were always given the negative view of the holiday time :-.
"people feel that they just have to do it although they do not really want to".

If you allow yourself to act like a fool about the holidays, you reap what you sow.
There are plenty of people that go overboard for the holidays for a variety of reasons. They foolishly go beyond their means to outshine their neighbors light display, eat to many cookies, and buy way to many presents.
Happliy I am not one of those people and never really have been. Christmas can be really fun but it is all about you decide to celebrate it.
Like many other things Christmas can be we balanced and fun, or overindulged to the point of insanity. It's up to each and every person to decide how they want to do it. -

If one accepts the preposterous precept that the book of Revelation is all about the activity of the WTS in 20th century, then I guess the details in the paragraphs are just as easy to swallow???
A common fallacy. Believe that proposition A is true and then B must be true because it is implied by A.
Because God teaches us through the Watchtower all of the stuff they say about revelation must be true. This is how it goes.
Nobody would ever believe any of this stuff without first having the belief that the Watchtower is Gods org. While other groups (such as the mormons) use deeply elaborate mythologies very openly to establish who the group is (like an Angel giving Joseph Smith golden plates), the JWs shy away from this.
Rather than using their foundational myths to publicly support the group (by giving 'testimonies' about Gods Organization being chosen by Christ in 1919 in the door to door work for example) JWs use a back door method of getting a person first to "trust" the WST in simple things and then eventually drop the whopper on them (revelation book stuff). -

Who on this Board would love to get rid of Organized Religion?
by restrangled inimho....it all needs to go.
its influencing everything in this world every and anywhere.
from the saudies, to the people in irag, iran and anywhere else our sons will need to be sent.. our current president claims he is influenced along with the former prime minister of england by religious beliefs.. there is the huge evangelical influence that got bush and the mess he made who put them in to begin with.. we have the jw's causing absolute havic in anyone's lives connected with this stupidity.. it goes on and on and on.

Do you really think 'getting rid' of the organized religious institutions will make this earth better?
Folks is folks. While it is easy enough to see how such things do divide people, it is no better than any of the many other things on this earth that contribute as well (i.e. politics, ethnicity, social class, ect).
The real question is whether or not people would use other things to justify radical behavior. It's a lot more complex than just saying 'to hell with it all' IMO -
